Virology Laboratory
The Virology Laboratory is a full service laboratory which performs rapid antigen testing, molecular methods, culture, and serology regarding viruses. Virology is a rapidly changing field and the laboratory is continually upgrading its test menu and test algorithms in order to keep abreast of current developments and provide the best services to our patients. By appearance of COVID-19, real-time PCR testing was offered for patient care on March 13, 2020. The Virology Laboratory Director and Laboratory Manager, researchers and technicians are worked in this laboratory as staffs. Since security is indispensable in this environment, some guidelines are intended to provide the minimum requirements for establishing a virology laboratory, keeping in view the emergence of new viral pathogens.
